The Hug Chair by Jorge Suarez-Kilzi is part of the Tumble collection, a series of sculptural seats that explore the intimate relationship between the body and the object. This enveloping chair, whose name evokes embrace, embodies Kilzi's vision of a design that literally embraces its user. “A chair must welcome,” says the designer, “it must invite pause, contemplation.” Made from noble wood with textile padding, The Hug Chair has organic curves that naturally follow the shapes of the body. The 8-week manufacturing process allows for meticulous artisanal work where each element is individually shaped. Wood reveals its natural texture, while textile provides softness and comfort. The generous proportions guarantee a seat that is both sculptural and functional, inviting you to slow down and fully inhabit the space.
