Antibody, 2022, is fully in line with César Bardoux's pictorial approach, exploring fluid materiality through the traditional medium of oil painting. The work, measuring 162x130 cm, reveals a complexity of textures where the smooth and the rough coexist, suggesting a constant transformation of the material. Here Bardoux continues his investigation of new textures from digital technology, transposing them onto the canvas with quasi-scientific precision. The light, diffuse and enveloping, models translucent volumes which seem to float in an indefinite space, evoking the amniotic fluidity which runs through all of his work. There we find the distorted geometric frames, signature of the artist, which participate in the fusion of temporalities, mixing ancestral and innovative techniques. Painting thus becomes a phenomenological study, capturing the transitory state of matter and its capacity to metamorphose.
