Hoard explores the notion of accumulation, both material and psychological, and the complexities of our relationship to objects, memories and experiences. This 135x168cm painting examines how we collect, store and organize what constitutes our inner world. The Greek artist deploys a dense and layered composition, a visual reflection of the very act of hoarding. The mixed oil-beeswax technique creates overlapping layers that evoke both the richness and weight of the buildup. Fueled by spiritual symbols, psychedelia and urban subcultures, Vasmoulakis transforms a potentially negative concept into a fascinating visual exploration of the human condition.
