5+5M Black - Image 1
Ara Thorose

5+5M Black

5+5M Black embodies Ara Thorose's sculptural vision where furniture and art merge. This hybrid piece combines a chair and a table in a composition of soft cylindrical shapes with generous dimensions of 76.2×61×61cm. Rigid but padded structure covered in deep black fabric which accentuates curves and transitions between volumes. Transparent glass table surface creates a visual dialogue between textile opacity and mineral transparency. Weighing 10kg with fabric, foam, glass and steel construction, this piece has a substantial sculptural presence. Proportions allow versatile use as a seat with side table or free-standing sculptural element. Each copy is made to order in Ara Thorose's New York workshop with a lead time of 10 to 12 weeks. Plain black allows harmonious integration into various contemporary environments while maintaining a strong artistic presence characterizing the artist's work.
