This 2025 work continues Ara Thorose's dedicated exploration of polyethylene as a pictorial medium, reaching new levels of formal complexity and material richness. The dimensions of 76.2 × 101.6cm create a visual field that balances the intimacy of close-up viewing with the impact of remote experience, allowing the work to operate effectively on multiple scales. The depth of 5cm activates the space between the work and the wall, creating a transition zone which reinforces the object quality of the piece and its spatial presence. The choice of polyethylene reflects Thorose's continuing interest in industrial materials and their potential for transformation into vehicles of artistic expression. The unique properties of the material – its reflectivity, its texture, its response to light – become essential elements of the content and impact of the work.
Manufacturing time: 10-12 week(s)
Each piece is handcrafted using natural materials, giving it its own distinct character. Due to the handmade nature, slight variations in color, texture, and finish may occur from piece to piece. These variations are inherent to the artisan process and add to the uniqueness of each creation.
