Frosted Nest
Frosted Nest embodies the visual poetry characteristic of Hanna Heino's work. This 2024 sculpture (26x22x19cm) in sandstone combines glaze and metallic luster to create surfaces of exceptional tactile and visual richness. Luster, an ancestral ceramic technique, gives the work iridescent reflections that evoke morning frost on a natural nest. The organic form evokes the idea of refuge and protection, while maintaining an abstraction that allows multiple interpretations.
