Lumen represents Hanna Heino's exploration of the intersection between sculpture and lighting. This imposing piece of 2025 (45x40x25cm) in sandstone combines metal leaf and metallic paint to create a monumental presence. The Latin title meaning "light" announces the dual function of the work: autonomous sculptural object and functional light source. The metal foil applied to certain areas creates contrasts between matte and shiny surfaces, amplifying the effect of the emitted light. The massive sandstone structure lends stability and architectural presence, while the metallic paint adds a contemporary dimension. Lumen demonstrates the artist's ability to merge art and design, creating objects that transcend traditional categories.
