Heliopora Coral, a sculptural bench designed by Leo Orta, embodies a fusion between the robustness of rock and the delicacy of coral formations. Born from the artist's exploration of organic textures and natural processes of erosion, this bench offers a poetic interpretation of functional furniture. The title, Heliopora Coral, is a direct reference to the Heliopora coral, known for its unique skeletal structure and distinctive blue color. Artist Leo Orta said: "I am fascinated by the way nature shapes materials over time, creating forms of unparalleled beauty. With Heliopora Coral, I sought to replicate this natural aesthetic, capturing the essence of coral in an object that is both functional and sculptural." The Heliopora Coral bench is made from specially formulated concrete, giving the piece exceptional strength while allowing the complex details of the coral texture to be reproduced.
