Nemoré VIII belongs to a series of works explored by Hanna Heino around the theme of memory and nature. This sculpture from 2025 (32x25x24cm) combines sandstone, slip and organza in a fascinating hybrid composition. The use of organza, a delicate textile, with ceramic creates a visual tension between fragility and solidity, between mineral material and organic material. The slip, a layer of colored clay applied before firing, gives the surface a matte and velvety quality which contrasts with the transparency of the organza. This juxtaposition of materials reveals Heino's experimental approach, which does not hesitate to push the conventional limits of ceramics. Nemoré VIII invites tactile as well as visual contemplation, questioning our perceptions of materials.
