Neptune Flesh

Neptune Chair by Leo Orta, from the Liquid collection, is a functional sculpture that transcends the boundaries of traditional furniture. Orta draws inspiration from natural forces, particularly the fluid and malleable dynamics of water, capturing a frozen moment of perpetual motion. The title evokes celestial imagery, suggesting an organic form shaped by cosmic forces. Leo Orta explains: “I seek to challenge perceptions of matter and form, creating objects that seem to defy gravity and invite a new way of interacting with space.” The chair is made of epoxy resin, a material chosen for its ability to simulate the liquid appearance and its exceptional durability. The piece is then painted with a black gloss finish, accentuating the contours and the play of light on the sculpted surfaces.
