Pariette Cactus
Pariette Cactus by Leo Orta is a sculptural candelabra that evokes fantastic and dreamlike flora. This unique piece, from a series exploring the boundaries between nature and artifice, transcends its utilitarian function to become a true work of art. Its title, Pariette Cactus, suggests an unusual cross between Parisian elegance and the exuberance of cacti, inviting you to an imaginary journey. Leo Orta designs his creations as dialogues between shape, color and material. The artist says: "I seek to create objects that arouse wonder and invite a new perception of everyday life." This candelabra is made from papier-mâché, an artisanal technique which gives the work an organic texture and surprising lightness. The main structure, a column reminiscent of a stylized cactus, is made up of overlapping spheres, painted in a vibrant shade of green.

The Anglo-Argentine artist Leo Orta lives and works in France, between Paris and Les Moulins. Graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2019, he explores the boundaries between art and design. His work questions human existence and social and emotional connections within communities and environments. He establishes connections between the subconscious and the imagination, using recycled materials and sustainable production methods. His works have been exhibited in numerous institutions, including the FRAC, the Van Abbemuseum and the Stedelijk Museum.
